Hampton is a developing town to the south of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
The first two neighbourhoods, Hampton Hargate and Hampton Vale, are now complete and development of the newest neighbourhood, Hempsted, is currently underway. Each neighbourhood has its own local centre with shops, schools and community facilities. New houses and flats are becoming available continually as the site develops.
Hampton is a completely new community which has been cited by Natural England as an exemplar of how to integrate new development into the surrounding landscape. Over 50 per cent of the open space available has been retained as such and more than 110,000 trees have already been planted.
Road links are newly installed and connect with the principal Peterborough roadways. The East Coast main line railway station at Peterborough is within easy reach.
The Hampton College secondary and primary schools cater for local children. Further schools are planned and will be constructed as the development moves forward.
Retail and Leisure
Hampton includes the Serpentine Green shopping centre and all that is on offer within this large retail facility. Open space has been carefully retained in the development and the Hampton Nature Reserve is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
